Light & Salt
“You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its flavor? Can you make it salty again? It will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless. You are the light of the world, like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.” Matthew 5:13-16
As a loving family and also as servants of Jesus, we endeavor to be a lighthouse to the lost, showing the lost the Light of Jesus. For those who are experiencing trouble, we try to help them find God’s way for their lives. We act as an anchor to the saved through worship and discipleship. Our goal is to be salt in the world, making others thirsty for God’s way and the grace He offers through His Only Son, Jesus the Christ and Savior of the World.

The mission of Island Baptist Church is to glorify God by making disciples through the gospel of Jesus Christ. God’s mission and the mission of His Church are inseparably linked. Our focus is on:

Service Minded
First, we are all servants to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ ensuring we provide a safe place where all can come and worship God through music and Bible centered preaching. We are servants to one another; several small groups meet not only at the church, but in homes throughout the area where a deeper fellowship and better support for one another can take place. We are servants to the community. There are several ministries to be involved with that not only provide people of the community with basic needs, but also gives opportunities to witness and be a light for God’s kingdom.

Fulfilling the Great Commission
“I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20.
The Gospel is ultimately about humanity being restored to God’s community. Only through a close community will individuals grow in grace and knowledge. This is how we witness to our community through the power of the Gospel. At Island Baptist Church, we strive to live our lives in friendship, forgiveness, and love to show others the Savior they are so desperately missing, Jesus.
