Island Baptist Church Food Pantry

Restocking

On Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings, we receive food donated by several local retailers. Volunteers pick up this food, weigh it, record/log the donation, and put it in the proper storage area.

Thursdays, around lunchtime, we receive over a thousand pounds of food via a delivery truck from the Food Bank of the Rio Grande Valley. Volunteers carry the food from the truck to the proper storage area.

Throughout the week, we are on call to pick up donations from a local retailer during store hours. Volunteers, when they are available, pick up the food and put it away.

Food Pantry Hours

Every Monday and Tuesday from 11:30AM until 2:00PM people in need can come to receive food from the Island Baptist Church Food Pantry located at 107 W. Mesquite St, South Padre Island.

Preparing for Distribution

Volunteers using carts will take a variety of canned and dried goods from our storage area to bags that are set up on tables in the Fellowship Hall. Once the bags are filled, they are then taken from the Fellowship Hall to the storage area where they are kept until distribution on Monday and Tuesday.

This is a weekly process every Friday starting at 11:00am.

Food Distribution

During our hours of operation several volunteers are needed to ensure that food is distributed efficiently and in a manner that honors our Lord and Savior.
