Beach Reach
Every year, tens of thousands of college students descend upon the beaches at South Padre Island during Spring Break. Beach Reach began in 1980 with 20 students who had a vision to reach their peers and serve the City of South Padre during Spring Break. It has progressively developed into the extensive ministry that it is today.
IBC Transformed
Every year IBC transforms so that it may accommodate the Baptist Student Ministry leaders, workers, and students who will witness while they’re on the Island during spring break.
Feeding the Students
For the first two Sundays during Beach Reach, volunteers prepare, cook, and serve lasagnas. For week one, volunteers serve lunch at the church in Fellowship Hall. During week two, volunteers serve lunch immediately following a combined worship service with the IBC congregation and Baptist Student Ministry staff, volunteers, and students at the SPI Convention center. During the two weeks, meals are also prepared and served by volunteers.
Witnessing on the Island
Reaching out to the lost, fulfilling the Great Commission! Two groups of students converging on South Padre Island with two different goals. The Holy Spirit working through one will transform the lives of many individuals.
A New Beginning
Salvation though the Lord’s grace is not the end, but a new beginning. At the end of each week, many of those who accepted Christ as Savior are baptized. A celebration of those who WERE lost, now SAVED. “And he said to him, Son, you have always been with me, and all that is mine is yours. But we had to celebrate and rejoice, because this brother of yours was dead and has begun to live, and was lost and has been found.” Luke 15: 31 and 32
